FAQ | 1. How can I manually unprotected a folder? Open an explorer window; select on the main menu Tools|Folder Options. 
Go to the View Tab and: - Unselect the option “Hide protected operating system files”
- Select the option “Show Hidden Files and Folders”.
- Unselect the option “Use simple sharing”
This will allow you to see your folders, now navigate to you protected folder and right click on it. 
Select Properties. Go to the security Tab, click on the advanced button. Select both options at the bottom: “Inherit from parent permissions …” “Replace permission entries on all child objects …”
